Hamburg with the Hagenbek animal park and the Binnen-Alster, as well as the harbour, are a short distance away by car or DB rail. The North Sea, St. Peter-Ording, Sylt and the Baltic Sea with Travemünde, Eckernförde and Lübeck are wonderful trip destinations. By the Elbe you can see all the boats headed towards the Hamburg harbours sailing past the long beach.
